The Birth of GeekTeachIT

Who am I?

I am a university student studying a double bachelor degree in multimedia and science. This course involves learning how to use a number of multimedia applications along with developing a number of programming skills, which work together to create the skills necessary to develop good quality video games.

I have a dream of one day creating an internationally popular game.

In yr 10 I decided to teach myself programming and photoshop in an attempt to get closer to my goal.
With the web as my resource, I quickly became disappointed at the number of tutorials dedicated solely to creating games, and the quality of those tutorials.
Some were good, but didn't continue, and some assumed prior knowledge of programming, or a particular program.
And then some decided to solve a problem in a very general purpose way, with no explanation on some of the more advanced concepts (like the maths behind collision detection, etc.)

What Can I Expect?

The community GeekTeachIT is dedicated to providing tutorials, tackling all of the steps that go into making a game. From tips on creating concept art, to tutorials on programming, GeekTeachIT is dedicated to becoming an all-in-one resource for future game creators.
